superficial standards warping women's mind

Being a woman in this world for 39 years, I have a fair amount of personal opinion on how it can feel to be one. Were do I begin. What better place than the beginning. As little baby girls are taught almost immediately how being cute and pretty is "important". Then as young girls we have dolls and animated movies of females that are usually considered perfect by a worldly standards. As we approach or adolescent years, a time that can be a highly insecure point in our life, what with hormones raging. At that time we are bombarded with television shows, movies and advertisements that tell us how oh so important our looks are. How about that, all in the name of making a buck.
The Results of this warped societal standard are  eating disorders, growing number of plastic surgery in adults & teens, depression, low self esteem, females looking at each other as competition instead of with love. theses are a few of the results of being a women in this world. One could say well don't participate in it but in a world ruled a good amount of time on looks it can be a challenge not to fall prey at times.
Going on into your adulthood and still continually being bombarded by social media as to what beauty is some women start to self  loaf themselves, and who could blame them with all the above mentioned degrading us. we also get rated by some men as if we were a piece of meat. (We are a living breathing human beings with feelings that are coincidentally stomped on when were are made to feel like our looks are what makes up the majority of who we are.) Even the most "confident and strong" woman feel the wrath of the superficial  nature that has been created by someone who more than likely did not fit the standard themselves, oh what irony.
Now approaching the aging women, this is a time when we should feel we lived a good life and hopefully added goodness to the world. We should be loving our bodies after all it gave us our children. We should be looked at as well for all the wisdom and inner beauty we attained in our life time, but again we are made to feel that we are old and hold less worth because our looks are fading, so sad. I'm not saying this is every persons thoughts or that this is the most detrimental issue in the world, it is an issue though that brings on pain & quite frankly pain is pain how ever you want to look at it.
There needs to be a change in how we woman are seen not only by societal measures but also by woman themselves.
My point is that as  woman we need to strive for being healthy both mentally and physically meaning eating healthy, exercising, being confident in who you are no matter what unrealistic standard the world has told us we need to be.
You are a beautiful human being in every way.
